I am pleased to announce that the Annual General Meeting 2023 was held on Thursday, 21 September 2023 at 7.30PM with eight Board members elected by our voting members. Of the eight board members elected, six board members are from the previous Board.
Mr Vincent Lim, Mr Chia Min Chong, Mr Desmond Chow, Ms Jean Lau, Ms Angela Lua and Mr Thomas Yong are re-elected into the new board. The two new Board members are Mr Ang Wee Seng and Mr Alan Tan.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the 6 existing board members who have stepped up to renew their commitment to serve the volleyball fraternity by offering themselves for re-election at this September 2023 AGM to be part of the next board. My thanks also go to Mr Alan Tan and Mr Ang Wee Seng for stepping up to serve on the new board.
Mr Ang Wee Seng is the Founder of VB SportsWeb since 2014 and an experienced coach in the fraternity with the passion to contribute to building a sustainable volleyball ecosystem in Singapore. We look forward to seeing his contribution to improving Singapore’s volleyball landscape with his creative ideas.
Mr Alan Tan is passionate to contribute and serve the volleyball fraternity. He is a strong advocate that volleyball is a sport that can unify the community. He lives that conviction and is today actively competing as a member of Taman Jurong Community Sports Network.
I would also like to express my sincere appreciation and say a big thank you to our four outgoing board members, Mr Shawn Huang, President, Mr Chee Kok Leong, VP High Performance, Mr Justin Low, VP Coaching Development and Mr Tan Meng Choon, Treasurer for their services to the board.
In preparation for our 2029 podium aspiration when Singapore hosts the 35th SEA Games, the Board shall focus efforts to develop our athletes in the domain of high performance as well as uplift our officiating capacity and coaching capability.
In that regard, the Board will be looking to co-opt members from the fraternity to serve in the different capacities and sub-committees to continue with the work of Volleyball Singapore. This would allow us to encourage willing and talented people within the fraternity to step forward to contribute to the Association’s work for the betterment of volleyball in Singapore.
After the AGM 2023 on 21 September, the first Board meeting was held during which the office bearers of the new Board are:

With the support of our affiliates and stakeholders, we are confident that Volleyball Singapore will continue to develop and progress.
